:...LAKE POWELL...:

Last weekend, June 25-28 Beau and I got to go to Lake Powell with his Uncle Dan, Aunt Lana, and cousin Gabe! It was a Blast! They have a Cabin Cruiser so we didn't really get off the boat except to hike. We arrived at Lake Powell Thursday afternoon...found a GREAT spot (well we thought it would be), dropped anchor next to Don and Kami, and ate fried chicken for dinner. Well about ten o'clock the wind started to blow...really hard and the anchor came undone so we were floating into rocks! So, its super dark, there was only a sliver of a moon, and we were driving through Lake Powell...oh ya..and I forgot to mention...IM AFRAID OF DEEP WATER! But, after a while we found some sand and docked!

Friday morning Dan, Beau and I were up at the crack of dawn fishing. Beau caught a bass, and a cat fish, and I caught a cat fish...and the stupid thing sliced my finger open! After breakfast we did a little more fishing (no one caught anything) and then went to explore the lake. Our first stop was a cave, you can drive your boat clear into it and turn around...its such a neat view from inside! I'll have to post those pics later...Don and Cami took those pictures for us. We also went to a Whirlpool, it's at the end of the canyone and you just shut your boat off, and you turn in circles in this whirlpool, it was really neat! We just layed out, fished, listened to music, and laughed at these two little kids that were running up a steep steep hill from their mom! Friday was just kind of the relax and ride in the boat day, but boy was it super fun!!!

Saturday, once again, Beau and Dan were up at the crack of dawn fishing, and once again, they were skunked! After we got going we went to Defiance House. It was really really neat! (other than I had to swim across a nasty dirty chanel to get there. It was a long hike, but totally worth it. We also hike up another canyon to another cave with a pond inside it. I guarentee there are prehistoric fish in it! It was really neat to. On the way up we seen millions of polywogs in the little stream. We also found 3 frogs inside a deep rock with water inside it. Beau and Gabe LOVED it! After all the excitement was over we headed up towards hite and camped in a little bay next to farelys canyon. It was so nice, there was NO ONE up there. We swam, and yep, even I swam! Beau and I were going to go for a little hike, but he found the biggest lizard ever so we had to catch that and take it back to the boat. Its scales were like a rattle snacks and its belly was bright yellow and blue! We even seen a boil, if you don't know what that is its when stripers (its a fish) push these little tiny fish called shad to the surface of the water and eat them, it makes a hole bunch of air bubbles and looks awsome!

Sunday we just woke up and drove home...It was a really fun trip thoough! We really enjoyed it.

While we were at the Lake, Kyler was camping with Grandma and Grandpa Ripp. They said he had a really good time up there with everyone, and got malled to death by his cousins!
