Guard Christmas Party

December comes with a lot of driving...we've got Christmas parties...Birthday parties...and lots of other events!! We started out the Month pretty slow, but by the end we'd been gone every weekend to some kind of party or another. The first party we went to was the Guard Christmas Party down in Blanding on December 12. It was the same weekend as the Nielsen / Paskett Christmas party and we're super sorry we had to miss it!

We headed to Moab on Friday and stayed with Marc and Danase. It was lots of fun, we don't get to see them very often, but when we do we have a lot of fun! The boys had to be to Blanding at 7 am on Saturday so they drove down that moring, and I got to hang out and eat Marc's yummy breakfast :) After Breakfast I headed down...! The roads were horrible...There was like two feet of snow in Moab...and clear down to Blanding! After I got there I went and hung out with Chelbs! The party started at seven so we had a lot of time to spare! The boys got done and came back and got ready...we decided they take longer to get ready than we do! They were telling us all the "rules" of this dinner. It was called a Dining Out and it was very proper! If the boys, or their dates made a mistake...the boys had to drink out of a "GROGUE" bowl. If you don't know what that is...it's just a bunch of nasty stuff mixed together!

The boys had to introduce their "dates" to the President, Vice and all the other NCO's...as their "mistress"! Weird huh? I've met everyone before so when he started introducing me as his mistress..I hit him!! Ya...that wasn't a very good idea! When we all went into the 'dining hall' we all had to wait to sit till the President did. They had a flag Ceromony, the 'grogue' bowl, and a minute of silence for the fallen. That was sad, I think every single one of the girls in the room was crying. They also had the Family wellness director get up and talk, and we watched a super sad little movie clip about deployement. They are trying to prepare all of us for July when they get deployed!

The night was going really well and NO ONE at our table had to drink out of the bowl, but Beau was throwing EVERYONE he could under the bus so they had to drink out of it. Josh stood up and asked if "their dates" could be excused for a minute so we could use the bathroom...so we all jumped up and ran into the bathroom. When we walked back in Beau, Josh and Wally were all standing at the bowl...giving us dirty dirty looks! They didn't pull our chairs out for us, so they had to go drink the nasty concaction!

We ended up staying in Blanding that night and hanging out with everyone. Kyler got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and I think he had a ball!!

The next moring we woke up and headed back to Moab. We got to hang out with everyone for a few hours. Kyler even got his first Birthday present! He loved it..! Marc and Danace Gave him a little walker. You can push it or you can sit on it and he LOVES it! He pushes it everyone.
